More cherry blossoms
Here is one of the pictures I got yesterday before my camera's battery died. This is the border between Tokyo, on the right, and Saitama, on the left.
Compare it to a picture of the same place I took on January 21st:
Guess which one I like better?
Last night between Hideaki's shifts (he does double shifts now) we went back to the park for a little hanami (flower-viewing) party. I packed some quick snacks and Hideaki made amazake (thick sweet sake). His amazake is apparently really good, but ingrate that I am I'm not fond of it (I actually prefer the crappy canned amazake). So I brought some regular sake for myself.
Since we are now relying on Hideaki's cellphone camera, this was the best picture we could get. I'm holding my sake cup, and if you look really hard you can see a cherry petal floating on top of the sake. A lovely image in real life, trust me.

Amy;
Beautiful photos!!! What a difference between January and April!!!!! Wish it were so here. We are expecting some snow showers tonight! Yuck... The trees are just beginning to bud and now we are thrown back to winter...Oh well.. I should have patience!!! Good luck in getting your battery recharger back....How frustrating.

Oh wow! What a great comparison photo! I think your favorite is the same as mine! :P Good luck with the camera battery, I think an extra battery is a better idea. Just think! It's portable! So you can have an extra charged one on you whereever you go.... :)

Carlyn, I hope the snow is gone by now. Don't worry- cherry blossoms or not, spring will be there soon.
Thanks Sera! That's just what I did, order another battery. Delivery was delayed and it won't arrive until Sunday- and my recharger arrived in the mail today!! But you're right, it is good to have a spare...
Great photo Gustad, thank you for sharing.
Englishman, thanks. Actually, I prefer the sweaty particulars. Can't wait till summer!
